Publisher Dr. Hubert Burda is the Managing General Partner of Hubert Burda Media. He is president of the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ) and cofounder of the European Publishers Council (EPC). He set up the Hubert Burda Foundation to promote interdisciplinary exchanges on future trends.

In his role as council chairman for Munich’s Ludwig Maximilian University, Burda helps to forge networks of excellence between science, business and politics. The publisher also founded the Hubert Burda Center for Innovative Communications at the Ben-Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel.

He has been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions for his achievements in publishing and business, including the European Print Media Prize, the Gold Medal Freedom of Speech of the European Association of Communications (EACA) and the Jakob Fugger Medal by the Bavarian Publishers Association. In 2006 Hubert Burda received the Leo Baeck Prize from the Central Council of Jews for his commitment to reconciliation between Germans and Jews.

Hubert Burda Media is an international media group with key premises in Germany, Eastern Europe, Russia and Asia. In addition to its headquarters in Offenburg, the company has offices in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg. Hubert Burda Media first entered the market over a century ago as a family business specialized in printing.
