The BAMBI for Music International goes to U2

U2 are one of the world’s most successful rock bands. For almost four decades the four Irishmen have been topping international charts and filling stadiums. They have received 22 Grammys – more than any other band –and been firmly established in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2005. And this is why, in the ceremony in Berlin on 13 November, U2 will be presented with the BAMBI for music international. The band will be on the BAMBI-stage with a special live performance.

Newcomer BAMBI goes to Ariana Grande

With her powerful voice, 21-year-old American Ariana Grande is breaking every record going. She is the first artist in the history of music to have three songs in the US digital top 10 at the same time. Her single “Problem” hit number 1 in the US iTunes charts in just 37 minutes, one of the fastest ever journeys to the top spot. The album “My Everything” topped the iTunes charts in 80 countries – including Germany. And this is why, in the ceremony in Berlin on 13 November, Ariana Grande will be presented with the BAMBI for best newcomer.

Powerful emotions, standing ovations and a TV premiere – the 65th Bambi Awards on November 14, 2013, broadcasted live from the Stage Theater in Berlin, had it all. German as well as international stars were honoured, like Robbie Williams, Miley Cyrus, Helene Fischer and the German TV brand “Tatort”.

The 65th Bambi Award Ceremony will be broadcasted live from the Stagetheater at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
They rank among the greatest entertainers of our time, regularly fill out entire stadiums with their live shows and excite people across generations – Robbie Williams, Udo Jürgens and Helene Fischer. All three can be seen live at the 65th Bambi Award Ceremony on November 14, 2013 from the Stagetheater on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. Broadcasted live on the TV channel “Das Erste”, the three artists will be honoured with Germany’s most prestigious Media Award.

The “Millennium” BAMBI 2012 Is Awarded to Felix Baumgartner

In October this year, the Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner completed a spectacular stunt by jumping from a height of 39 kilometres (24 miles) at a speed of up to 1342 kilometres per hour (834 miles per hour) as part of the Red Bull Stratos project. By doing so, he became the first person to prove that it is possible to break the sound barrier in a free fall without mechanical assistance and survive this feat. Felix Baumgartner is being awarded the BAMBI 2012 Award in the category of “Millennium” for this unique achievement.

Cro Is Awarded a BAMBI in the Category of “German Pop”

From a phantom to a phenome0non: The music label responsible for the German rapper Cro first noticed him online at the beginning of 2011 and then searched for him on Twitter. It is now virtually impossible to find a magazine or television channel that does not feature Cro in its reports, a radio station that does not play his hit song “Easy” or a concert that is not completely sold out. According to the German singer Jan Delay, Cro is the “future of German hip hop”. Cro, the man with the panda mask, is being awarded the BAMBI 2012 Award in the category of “German Pop” at the BAMBI Award Ceremony in the German city of Düsseldorf.
